Pointe Safe
The Pointe Safe Certified Teacher program is designed for ballet teachers currently teaching. We have packed this course with content for immediate use in the studio and go beyond standard tests for pointe readiness. This rigorous 8 week immersive and interactive live-online course is backed by SF Performing Arts PT and decades of dance PT experience. We cover relevant anatomy, information about common injuries, exercises, and anatomic placement cues as well as corrections to use in class. Your weekly implementation experience is shared with the group at the beginning of each session including Q&A. Pointe Safe teachers gain the confidence to know when to refer a dance student to a physical therapist, physician or other dance medicine specialist. The course includes a private one hour zoom meeting with Kendall Alway, PT, DPT to review your certification videos.
A certification through Pointe Safe also means joining our community forum for teacher-graduates, access to further coursework in our Builder Series, and quarterly alumni meetings offering ongoing support from the instructor and your fellow alumni. Certified teachers are highlighted on our website and given exclusive use of the Pointe Safe Certified Teacher logo. We understand that each ballet teacher works in a different studio environment and seek to support all teachers progressing their students to pointe, regardless of their pedagogic approach. Pointe Safe is designed to be implemented in any studio setting.
